The devil on your shoulder whispers in your ear, "One more." So you order one more try to ignore the band, but their four-part harmonies and catchy tunes keep intruding on your thoughts. Your jacket smells like smoke, your dirty hands are still shaking and you can't stop thinking of her. The Dust Collectors have somehow tapped into your darkness. This Calgary alt-folk collective has a country heart, unafraid to script a good murder ballad or an unabashed singalong. Before you know it, you've stopped thinking about leaving. You've stopped thinking about the long, cold road home - you've even stopped thinking about her. You order another and settle in. Their collaborative approach to songwriting is apparent: all four come from different musical backgrounds, but they meet in the middle where melody is a thoughtfully built campfire, warming everyone. Here's hoping The Dust Collectors continue making more beautiful , heart-warming songs.
