This one has been quietly building anticipation, gaining steam and touring, despite minimal on-line presence and a debut recording that’s months from release. Co-founder and front person of multi-dimensional, visceral alt rock, Juno award-winning outfit July Talk, Peter Dreimanis, is stepping out! For over a decade, legions of fans have followed them as they honed their craft, toured, made art and collaborated. Peter Dreams, Dreimanis’s solo moniker, has been recording his debut solo record through 2023 as the band takes a brief touring break.
Dreimanis has fashioned a career embroiled in mystique, with energetic songs and often-enigmatic lyrics, plus has embarked on a cool recent collaboration with Anishnaabe moccasin-gaze artists OMBIIGIZI. This background plus growing up with a journalist mother in a home where small talk wasn’t the norm is behind the creation of raw, intimate and honest songs, backed by the spacious sonic environment of MOONRIIVR ¬– the lauded new project from Wooden Sky vocalist Gavin Gardiner and Dwayne Gretzky guitarist "Champagne" James Robertson.
