The Calgary Folk Music Festival and all associated indoor events, including Block Heater 2022 concerts at the Jack Singer Concert Hall, will continue to require proof of vaccination to attend. At the time of our ticket on-sale, we made a social contract with our ticket purchasers, volunteers and artists that showing proof of vaccination was part of this year's safety protocols. We are moving forward to honour that social contract and work in partnership with our host venue, Arts Commons.
All audience members 12 years and older are required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours of the event.
The test result must be a written or printed copy that indicates the individual has tested negative for COVID-19 on a Health Canada approved rapid antigen, rapid PCR, or lab-based PCR test approved by Health Canada or the lab accreditation body of jurisdiction. At-home rapid antigen tests will not be accepted.
Masks must be worn for the duration of the event, including when seated for the performance. Individuals with medical exemptions must still provide a negative COVID-19 test result. Documented medical exemptions for masks and/or vaccination status must be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org 48 hours in advance of the event. Entry will be denied for those who cannot provide the required proof of vaccination documentation or meet the above criteria for a negative COVID-19 test.
The Jack Singer’s assigned seating will be sold at half capacity with physical distancing measures in place. Arts Commons has installed energy-efficient MERV 15A air filters providing hospital grade air sterilization using Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation (UVGI). Arts Commons is frequently cleaned and surfaces sanitized.
We strongly encourage all staff, volunteers, and audience members to remain masked at all times for our Olympic Plaza performances.
We thank everyone for doing their part to help keep our community safe.
